Sir Pilkington-Smythe is an erstwhile naturalist who travels to the four corners of the globe to find the most outlandish animals, and this is his Bestiary. Originally hailing from Yorkshire, he is a self-confessed connoisseur, raconteur and bon vivant. Others have described the man as a bounder and a cad. Weirdimals[at]gmail.com

  7. I just wanted to look at the wombat pictures, but I ended up reading your entire site. Your style of writing is great! Now I wish my professors talked like that.

  8. I watched a show on the “Discovery” Channel last night and became fascinated with the poor, chubby parrot, the KaKapo. When I did a search for information on this bird, very few sites appeared. How wonderful it was to eventually find your blog! Your facts about our tubby friend are accurate, and your writing is hilarious. If biology classes were presented in this manner, students may remember more. As other readers have said, I think I love you. Thank you for such great entertainment. When I’m feeling blue, I know where to go to have a laugh.
